Successful completion of the Degrees of Reading Power assessment, or the DRP, is a pre-application requirement for RRC's Health Care Aide, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences programs. The DRP is a reading comprehension test designed for English first language speakers, i.e. people who learned to speak English at home as a child, were educated in English and now live and work in English.

- It is a test that determines how well you understand what you're reading.
- The online version of the DRP consists of 63 multiple choice questions.
- As you work through the test, the passages become more challenging.
- The DRP is an untimed test. While many people are able to finish within two hours, you will have as much time as you need to write the test.
